Why don't people build more hospitals or schools and only build pagodas?
- Because building the other two things requires morality, virtue, responsibility, and sacrificing yourself for others!
- Building schools to teach people is a responsibility to people and the future of the nation. But if a teacher cannot discipline himself, who can he teach? If you sell someone a book and make a profit of a few coins, you will still be talked about repeatedly, if it's not worth it then you will never have something to eat.
- When building a hospital, you must be responsible for human lives and have compassion for the sick and suffering. Not every doctor dares to bear those heavy responsibilities. If you want to be rich, you must sell fake drugs. If you want to be devoted to patients, you must exhaust yourself. So, doctors nowadays mostly choose to love themselves first... for money, for fame and for their family first.
- But when it comes to building temples, people don't need to be virtuous or responsible for anything... they just need to have money and make money. No one scolds you for selling gods and selling saints. People even must bow down and offer money to you. In the name of national prosperity, there must be great wonders to be proud of with the powers of the five continents, and there must be a legacy for future generations to put into history books.
